Graduating with Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Oscar joined CSR Ltd as a young engineer to pursue a career in business management supported by CSR’s “Accelerated Leadership Programme”. A career journey that exposed him to the different geographic markets and industry sectors within building, construction and associated industries, across Australia.
Oscar’s commercial career continued to expand across residential building, land development, commercial construction, civil construction, commercial real estate and building materials manufacturing and distribution. His business profile spans for more than 30 years including roles in operational management, business development, commercial management, general management and non-executive & executive board directorship roles across different sectors from within the building & construction industries.
His breadth of senior executive experience and business knowledge comes about from a strong platform of hands-on exposure from within large multi-nationals and privately owned organisations. This has become his foundation of knowledge and understanding on the influence of people and the significance that they have in delivering sustainable growth within a business.

Doug George has acquired these attributes from his three careers, first as a senior Army officer, then a leading business executive and lastly as a much sought after business coach and mentor.
A graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon, Doug rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and his 21 year military career culminated with his appointment as the Commanding Officer of the School of Military Engineering. Doug saw active service in South Vietnam where he was wounded in action. During his military career, he obtained a first class honours civil engineering degree and was awarded an Order of Australia in 1984.
Doug’s 21 year business career was spent primarily in companies associated with the building and construction industry in general manager and sales and marketing roles. He studied marketing at IMD Lausanne and with Stanford University. Noteworthy appointments included General Manager, Sales and Marketing – Formica, Regional General Manager, CSR Construction Materials (Readymix, Humes) and Chief Executives, Smorgon ARC. Doug also spent time with Linfox.
Most recently, he has mentored and coached numerous executives to maximise their performance and that of their business. He has a reputation for being an outstanding leader with the knowledge and skills necessary for the development and delivery of strategic business outcomes. His vast experience interacting with many people over his careers enables him to accurately assess a candidate’s fit with a client’s requirements.
